Batches
A batch is a group of shipments created by importing a CSV file. Use a batch when your shipment information is already in a spreadsheet and you want to import multiple shipments.
Creating one shipment? Use Create a Shipment instead. For the onboarding basics, see Getting Started.
Follow Upload a Batch to find the CSV template and file notes. Check the template’s requirements before preparing your file.
Open your batches in SmartConsign. Use the filters to find the batch and review its upload date, processing state and shipment counts.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not started | The batch is waiting to be processed. |
| Processing | SmartConsign is processing the shipments. |
| Processed | Batch processing has finished. Review the results to see which shipments succeeded or failed. |
| Failed | The batch could not be processed. Review the accompanying error message. |
| Download | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Original file | The CSV file you uploaded. |
| Succeeded file | Shipment numbers for successfully processed shipments. |
| Failed file | Errors for shipments that did not succeed. |
Use the failed file to identify the details that need correcting. Check the succeeded file before preparing another upload so you do not include shipments already created successfully.
Open the batch details for processing information, totals and errors. If the batch contains successful shipments, its shipment-list button opens those shipments with the batch filter applied.
